Pokemon Data is Lost - Mysterious Dungeon Spin-off Recalled

Nintendo Japan has issued a recall notice for two of its latest DS games, the Chunsoft co-developed Mysterious Dungeon spin-offs, Pokemon Fushigi no Dungeon Blue/Red Rescue Team.

Pokemon: Fushigi no Dungeon BlueWe picked up on unconfirmed reports last week that data was being corrupted or lost at various points in the games, with the all-important data-transfer elements being the most dangerous times to lose game progress and Pokédex.

Nintendo has confirmed the fault today, announcing a recall of the games and offering a free exchange of the first-generation of cartridges for revised versions it is currently manufacturing.

The problem stems when the cartridges are exchanged between Nintendo DS units. From what we can gather, the power being left on (as per the game’s instructions) flashed the game cartridge, resetting it completely and leaving thousands of Pokefans hours of lifetime in the red.

Give Thanks. JRBnet Holidays.

Thanksgiving Day is an annual holiday of thanks observed in the United States and Canada. In the U.S., the holiday is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. In Canada, where the harvest generally ends earlier in the year, the holiday is celebrated on the second Monday in October.

All of us at JRBnet wish you and yours the best on this day of thanks.Thanksgiving Dinner with family and friends

Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated with a large dinner shared among friends and family. In both Canada and the United States, it is an important family gathering, and people often travel long distances to be with relations for the celebration. The Thanksgiving holiday is often a "four-day weekend" in the United States, in which Americans are given the relevant Thursday and Friday off. Thanksgiving is usually celebrated almost entirely at home, unlike the Fourth of July or Christmas, which are associated with a variety of shared public experiences (fireworks, caroling, etc.). In Canada, it is a three-day weekend, as Thanksgiving is observed on the second Monday of October every year.

Please be safe in your travels to your family's homes and have a happy, turkey filled Thanksgiving Day!

The official Japanese Pokémon Web site has announced an upcoming campaign involving the Game Boy Advance Pokémon RPG games. Beginning Nov. 26, the Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Yokohama and Sapporo Pokémon Center stores will commence a promotion of distributing Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip.

The purpose behind the campaign is to assist players who do not have access to all five versions of the GBA Pokémon RPG series, Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald. As such, the Pokémon to be distributed are those only available in the games out of multiple choice or through version-exclusive means. When the first promotion ends on Dec. 11, it will most likely be replaced by another promotion giving out Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.
The recently released Pokémon XD is, too, partly focused on supplementing the GBA games with version-exclusive and otherwise hard-to-get Pokémon. However, the only game to have all its missing Pokémon covered through this method is Emerald. Furthermore, neither the Hoenn|Hoenn nor the Kanto starters are included in this.

In order to receive the Pokémon, players must attend one of the Pokémon Center stores with their Game Boy Advance (or SP) and one or more cartridges. It is necessary to have obtained the Pokédex from Prof. Birch (in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald) or Prof. Oak (in FireRed and LeafGreen). Also required is saving at an in-game Pokémon Center after clearing at least one room in the party; only one Pokémon is downloaded at a time. It should be noted that since the download is performed directly, unlike normal trading and wireless communication downloads, the game will not check whether the National Dex has been obtained.
